Nathan S. Anderson first married Mary Elizabeth Alexander in Boone County, AR on 19 Mar 1882.  Mary was born in 1864 in Obion County, Tennessee to Rev. James Harvey Alexander and his first unknown wife.  Her mother died in Feb 1866 after giving birth to her younger sister Phoebe.  Her father than married Mary Amanda Stephens Doolan, a childless war widow, in 1867.  Nathan and Mary Elizabeth had 8 children between 1882 and 1895. Mary died in 1895 after giving birth to her last child.  They had the following children:

2) Leonidus (Son) b. Aug 1884 
3) Maud (Dau) b. Jul 1886 
4) William S. (Son) b. Mar 1888
5) Harvey H. (Son) b. Feb 1890
6) Jasper S. (Son) b. Oct 1891
7) Nathan S. Jr. (Son) b. Feb 1893
8) Mary E. (Dau) b. Jan 1895

Nathan moved to Oklahoma sometime after 1900. He and his second wife Sarah are enumerated in the 1920 Census for Jackson County, OK.
