Oldtimer in Aspen Ridge District Passes On
ASPEN RIDGE May 26 – Aspen Ridge sustained the loss of one of its oldest residents on Sunday last when Jacob Edwin Anderson passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on The Ridge. His two daughters, Mrs. J. Kauffman and Mrs. J. Bullas, who reside in the district, were at his bedside.
Mr. Anderson was a native of Kentucky, where he was born seventy-five years ago, and came to Grande Prairie in 1917 with Mr. and Mrs. J. Bullas and Mrs. Anderson, and was one of the first to file on land in this district.
His wife predeceased him in 1933, but he is survived by four daughters and one sone: Mrs. J. Bullas, Wembley, Mrs. J. Kauffmann, Huallen, Mrs. Delaney, Ormsby, Minnesota, and Henry Anderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Mr. Anderson will be sadly missed, especially by the oldtimers, who have known him to be an honest, hard worker, with an intense love for his family and his farm.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. today, and burial took place in the Lake Saskatoon Cemetery, Messrs. F. Willsey, A. lange, F. Dolphin, R. Young, A. Clayton and C. Grubb were pall-bearers, Rev. A. F. Le Dieu of St. Matthew’s Church, Wembley, conducted the service.
