House Peters Sr., born Robert House Peters, in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. He was a Silent Film Actor (active from the 1900's-1950's) known to film goers of the era as "The Star of a Thousand Emotions." He began his career playing the handsome leading man in "In the Bishop's Carriage," (1913)." He signed with Universal Studios in 1924. He retired after "Rose Marie," (1928) but he returned for a guest appearance in "The Old West," a 1952 Gene Autry film that also featured his son, House Peters Jr. He was the star of over 50 films including "An Hour Before Dawn" (1913), "A Lady of Quality" (1913), "Chelsea" (1913), "Salomy Jane" (1914), "The Girl of the Golden West" (1915), "The Great Divide" (1915), "The Forfeit" (1919), "The Leopard Woman" (1920), "The Storm" (1922), & "Treasure of the Golden Condor" (1953).

Peters was married to Actress Mae King Peters in 1914, with whom he had four children, Robert Jr., Gregg, Ian & Patricia. Peters died in 1967 at the Motion Picture Country House & Hospital in Woodland Hills, California.

House Peters Sr. has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
