MARION - Mr. Franklin Delano "Frankie" Brown, Sr., 75, husband of Debra Stroud Brown died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness.

Mr. Brown was born June 4, 1942 in Horry County, son of the late John Henry and Hannah Phillips Nye Brown. He had retired from the City of Marion Fire Department after more than 30 years of service. Frankie was a member of the Marion Rural Fire Department and had served with the City of Marion Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Department. After his retirement, he worked at the 76 Car Wash in Marion. Frankie loved Motorcycles. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Frankie in addition to his wife of the home are three children, Franklin D. Brown, Jr. of Marion, Ellen Hiott (Christopher) of Edisto Island and Mary Ashley Brown of Marion; four sisters, Henrietta Cox (Phillip) of Florence, Fleetwood Brown of Marion, Ina Garrison (John) of Florence and Helen Carberry (Harry) of Troutman, NC; and 6 grandchildren.

Frankie was predeceased by three brothers, Nye Brown, Joseph Reuben Brown and Joe Albert Brown.

Graveside services will be Saturday morning, July 1st at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion at 11:00 a.m.
