Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed! He LOVED his wife, he told her every day she was beautiful and he loved her! Kenneth was a family man; he could fix anything and enjoyed gardening. He taught his children to always look outside the box. Kenneth retired from the US Army after 20 years of dedicated service where he was a Warrant Officer. He later worked at Jenkins Metal and Glass Tech. Kenneth was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Retta Lynn Eaker Helms; son, Kenneth Everette Helms (Carrie); daughters, Dana Helms Martin (David); Kimberly Helms Huffman (Dustin); grandchildren, Mathew Helms, Danielle Almond (Trent) Mathew Huffman, and Julia Huffman; brother, George "Joe" Helms (Sandra); sisters, Mary Ella Helms Hobbie (Alton) and Elizabeth Helms Redding (Robert); brother-in-law, Richard Eaker (Martha) and their son Christopher; many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life: Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Matt Morris and Reverend Patricia Humphries-Bivens officiating.
Interment:Gaston Memorial Park with full military honors.
