Raymond Gilbert "Gil" Brim, 73, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Gilbert graduated from Asheboro High School and High Point University. He had worked at Energizer for over 42 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He volunteered for Hospice, The Salvation Army, and numerous other community organizations and events. He loved playing the organ and piano for the two churches he was a member of, Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and All Souls Anglican Church.

Gilbert was the son of the late Rev. Ollie and Jewell Brim, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Bulah May Brim, and his brothers, Everett Brim and Raeford Brim, and sister-in-law, Glenda Brim.

He is survived by: nieces and nephews, Sandra and Paul Loftis, Lee and Laura Brim, Scottie Brim, and Julie Brim; great nieces, Nicole Loftis, Clarissa Suttle, Kara Suttle, and Kennady Brim; great nephews, Adam Brim, Zac Brim, and Keenan Brim; sister-in-law, Judy Brim; and very special friend, Denise Summerell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with The Revered Joe Mitchell officiating, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Committal will be at 3:00 pm at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery.
