Rev. Raeford Griffin Brim, age 70, of Asheboro died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home.

Raeford was born December 10, 1945 the son of the Rev. Ollie David Brim and Jewell Richardson Brim. He was 1964 graduate of Asheboro High School and a graduate of Central Wesleyan College in South Carolina. In addition to his parents, Raeford was preceded in death by his sister and brother. A compassionate, giving, and loving man he enjoyed doing God's work, and loved practical joking. He served as the pastor of Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church, and had been employed with Thomas Brothers Country Hams for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Judy Massey Brim; daughter: Julie Brim of Randleman, NC; son: Scottie Brim of Greensboro, NC; brother: Gilbert Brim of Asheboro, NC; daughter: Tonya Cox of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Billie Lunsford; sister-in-law and her husband, Jerra and T.G. Underwood; 6 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Sandra Brim Loftis and family and Lee Brim and family.

The body will lie in state on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 9:00 am-2:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. The funeral will be Thursday at 3:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Lewis, Rev. Wayne Byrd, and Rev. Scott Ferguson officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Randolph County Honor will follow in the Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery.
