Ben F. (Shorty) Cooper, of 128. S. Edison St. in Greenville, died at University Hospital in Jackson Wednesday after an illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of National Funeral Home. Rev. Don Shockey will officiate. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery.

National Funeral Home of Greenville has charge.

Mr. Cooper was born at Kilbourne, La., and moved to Greenville in 1937. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. A painter, Mr. Cooper was emplyed by S&L Paint Co.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Katie Lee Rodgers Cooper of Greenville; three sons, Coy Cooper, Richard E. Cooper and Tommy Cooper all of Greenville; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Miller and Mrs. Brenda Scucchi of Greenville; his step-mother, Mrs. Mattie Williams of Independence, Mo.; three brothers, James C. Cooper of Sulfur, La., Leroy Cooper of California and Jessie Cooper of Harrisonburg, La.; one sister, Mrs. Katie Lou McClaran of Independence, and nine grandchildren.
