Mary Jo Parker, of Lisle, IL, passed away at home on December 14th, 2016. She was born February 13th, 1955 in Janesville, WI to John and Mary Agnes Halvorsen. She graduated from Craig High School in 1973 and earned her Associates Degree from UW-Rock County in 1975. In 1977 she married Bob Parker and relocated to the Chicago area, raising their family in Lisle. Mary Jo will be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, sister and friend who valued the comfort and happiness of others above her own. She was a brilliant baker, loved her dogs and was an incredibly sweet, thoughtful and positive person. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of nearly 40 years; their children Zach Parker of Aurora, IL, Brandon Parker of Lisle, IL and Rachel Parker of Portland, OR; sisters Carol (Dave) Pechauer, Jane (Chuck) Hinkel, Julie (Mark) Keesey and brother Jim Halvorsen; siblings-in-law Jenny (Dave) Emery, Moe Parker, Dorothy (Joe) Schuller and Nate Parker and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Agnes Halvorsen; parents in-law Bob and Priscilla Parker and brother in law Tim Parker. Visitation will be Monday, December 19th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 44 S Mill St,. Naperville, IL 60540. Interment and Memorial Mass of Christian Burial are private.
