Obbie Dial, Jr., 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the Hospice Care Center.
He was a 1959 graduate of Howard High School and then attended Knoxville College. It was there that he realized his true passion for photography. He was co-owner of Cousin and Dial Studios and later opened Obbie Dial Photography. Obbie served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and retired after many years of service. Obbie was currently employed by Walden Security for McKee Foods in Ooltewah, Tennessee. He was an avid bowler in a Tuesday Night Mix League. Obbie was preceded in death by his parents, Obbie and Ruby Lee Dial, Sr. Survivors include his children, Kelvin (Dedra) Dial, Celestine (Carlos) Hampton, and Greg (Marva) Dial; grandchildren, Charlrey Dial, Jasminé Dial, Marlania Dial, Christopher, Bradley, Jasmine Adams, Aerhealle, Shania, Mykayla, and Serenity Hampton; great-grandchildren, Sylia Hicks and Andrew Miller; brother, Sammy (Stella) Dial; sister, Ernestine (Joseph) Hall and Barbara Hollins of Columbus, OH; loving and devoted friend, Shirley A. Dial and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Truman Savage as the eulogist.
Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
