Morrison resident and Grundy County native Alvin Boyd Myers, 56, died unexpectedly Aug.2 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The owner of A.J.'s Nursery and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, he was the son of Chester Myers of Centertown and the late Willie Mae Higgins Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Elaine Basham Myers, daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Doug Rife of Centertown, Annette and Dudley Lewis of Morrison; sister, Carolyn Myers of McMinnville; brothers, Charles and Bennie Myers of McMinnville, Ricky, Steve, Kenneth and Bobby Myers of Centertown, and grandson, Trey Lewis of Morrison.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. today at High's Chapel with Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a. m.until time of service today at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
