"Game, Set, Match"

Our greatly loved husband, father, brother and grandpa, David Norman Dall, was finally released from his eight year struggle following a brain injury.

Grandpa Normie was born July 28, 1928 in Eureka, UT and moved to South Salt Lake at the age of 6 following his father's death. Born of the Depression, he learned hard work early, driving a milk truck at age 12 so he could buy his first car at age 16, and the land for his first house at 18. He spent his summers on the Bonneville Salt Flats and became a legend for his customized cars. He served in the Korean War and upon his return, took employment at Petty Motors where he met Karen Ellis, whom he married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Aug 29, 1956. From 1956 until his retirement he worked as a salesman for Kaman Bearing where he was highly respected by his customers, colleagues and competitors for his integrity and dedication to service. His greatest devotion was to his doting wife, Karen, seven children, and especially his spoiled grandchildren. He was passionate about tennis and the Runnin' Ute's Basketball team. He loved working in his yard; home repair projects or "relaxing at the cabin." He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving quietly in many positions, always remembering his primary calling as a husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Dall; children, Corby (Karen) Dall, Darren (Suzy) Dall, Joel (Adrienne) Dall, Kimberlee Spere, Noelle (Peter) Roshko, Amy Dall, Shannon (Larry) Knudsen; 21 grandchildren; and sister, Thelma Durfee. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence, Eugene Dall; and special son-in-law, Steve Spere.

Services will be Wed. April 30, 2003, 12 noon Big Cottonwood LDS 14th Ward Chapel, 2080 E. 5165 S. Friends may visit Tues. April 29, 2003 Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, 6-8 p.m. or Wed. 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
