Sampson Hardy Sr., 66, of 523 W. Third died Monday at St. Francis Hospital.

Born Oct. 12, 1913, in Marks, Miss., a son of Jarrett and Willie Lee Collins Hardy Sr., he married Ruth Hayes in Peoria, April 4, 1974.

He was last employed by Boyer Construction Co.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Sampson Jr., Pete, Willie, Elijah and Moses Edward, all of Peoria; five daughters, Mrs. Barbara King and Mrs. Debra N'ze, both of Chicago, Mrs. Lynette Cunningham, Miss Avon and Evon Butler, twins, all of Peoria; one brother, Jarrett Jr. of Detroit and one sister, Mrs. Essie Johnson of Peoria. One son, one daughter and one brother preceded him in death.

Services will be in New Morning Star Baptist Church, the Rev. Calvin Hightower officiating and burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
