Elizabeth Meyler

Elizabeth Meyler, 91, passed away on June 6, 2017. She was born on July 29, 1925 to Rose and Julius Hoeler and grew up in Newark, NJ.

She married Walter Meyler in 1945 while he was in the Army Air Corps. Together they enjoyed the military way of life which included numerous tours of duty, cultural experiences and friendships, and endured the separations that came with her husband’s career.

One of her many strengths was adapting to the changes and challenges that came with military reassignments. She stayed busy as a homemaker, took pride in caring for her family, and was a devoted mother and wife. Elizabeth was involved in many arts and crafts projects, and was an active member in the Purple Hat Society and Military Officers’ Wives’ Clubs.

She is survived by her two sons William (wife Candice) and Dennis, grandchildren Megan and Ryan, and her great granddaughter Brynna. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Walt, a daughter Eileen, son Kenneth, two brothers, and two sisters.

Burial services with her husband will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, VA at a future date. Donations may be made in honor of Elizabeth to the Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer’s Association, or an organization of your choice.
