Dolores Williams Abplanalp, 63, of Old Forge, died Tuesday morning in the Scranton Health Care Center following an illness. Her husband, George Abplanalp, preceded her in death on February 18, 1988.
Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late Sabbath and Mary Ghigiarelli Williams, she was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Dolores was employed by the Old Forge School District before her retirement. She was also a parishioner of St. Ann’s Basilica, West Scranton.
One of her favorite pastimes was cooking, for she delighted in doing so for her loving family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and brought indescribable joy to her life. Throughout her life, Dolores took pride in caring for her dogs, which were like a part of her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy Talipski, and husband Raymond, of Taylor; two sons, George Williams, and wife Cindy, of Pittsburgh, and Jesse Abplanalp, of Duryea; a brother, Sabbath Williams; two sisters, Lee Ann Daley and Gloria Brown; five grandchildren; a nephew; and her very best friend, Jane DiGregorio.
The funeral and visitation was privately held from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, Robert J. Gillette, funeral director, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge with services by the Rev. Joseph R. Jones, C.P. of St. Ann’s Basilica. Interment took place in the Old Forge Cemetery.
