Names released in Junior Place shooting

The Caddo Parish Coroner's office has released the names of two people found shot dead in west Shreveport early Sunday, June 18, 2017.

The bodies of Tara Wren, 39, of Shreveport, and Eric Cox, 54, of Keithville, were found by Shreveport Police responding to the 3500 block of Junior Place just before 6 a.m. That is between North Maywood Drive and Parkwood Drive west of Interstate 220.

Identification of Wren and Cox was through fingerprints. The decedents were taken to University Health hospital for autopsy.

Eric L. Cox

Eric L. Cox, 54, of Keithville, La passed away on June 18, 2017. There are no words to describe the loss suffered by our family when his spirit crossed over on this Father's day. He was born on August 27, 1962 in Shreveport, La to James and Beulah Cox. Eric was a welder, master carpenter, owner & CEO of Tiger Construction Company, and the heart of our family. He was preceded in death by his mother Beulah Cox, his aunt Judy Teal, and two nephews. Survived by his father, James S. Cox, brothers James Baker, Rodney J. Cox, Antonio R. Flores, son Lance Cox and wife Lauren, grandchildren Brantley Cross, and Prezlee Faith Cox, niece Tonya Davis-Arnold, and nephew Scott Flores, also countless individuals that throughout his life he touched even if just one time. Eric was a member of Champions For God Church in Gloster, La, and washed in the blood as, The Son Of The King. Now, residing this day with God and his mother on the streets of Glory. Enduring this monumental loss to our family Eric is now a Jewel in the Crown of The Lord Almighty. Services will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 6 pm at Champions For God, 4074 Hwy. 171 Gloster, La., Pastor Charlie Mahone.
