She was born in Deering. Bertha attended New Bedford High School, graduating in 1933. She attended Bryant Stratton College Night School in Providence Rhode Island, graduating with a diploma in Executive Secretarial Course in 1935.
She worked in Washington, DC for a period, moving back home for Farmers Home Administration. She then moved to Tilton. Lastly moving to Concord Savings Bank where she retired. Bertha was a past Grand Rebecca for the Odd Fellows and a member for many years. She also liked to make blankets for babies at Concord Hospital.
In 1978 Bertha and her twin sister Hazel Jane Yeaton moved to Havenwood Heritage Heights.
She leaves her loving sister Laura Anne Young of Cape Cod, Mass.; a sister in law Helen Winslow of Massachusetts; nieces, grandnieces; nephews; many loving friends; and a lot of wonderful, loving, caring staff from Havenwood. Services were previously held privately.
