BIG PRAIRIE -- Candy Gilbert, 64, of Big Prairie, died Thursday evening, June 15, 2017 at The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 with Bishop Nate Hill officiating. Burial will be at the Nashville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the funeral home.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Northeast Region, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, Ohio 44406.
She was born Feb. 13, 1953 in Wooster, and was the daughter of Daniel and Arlene (Arnold) Kovach. On June 19, 1971 she married Ronald Gilbert and he preceded her in death Sept. 20, 2014.
She was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the church's Relief Society. Candy was a member of Triway Capers.
Surviving are two children, Christol Neels of Big Prairie and Brandon (Barb) Gilbert of Pickerington; eight grandchildren, Nicole Gilbert, Justin Neels, Dalton Neels, Skylar Neels, Mikyla Gilbert, Caden Gilbert, Melaina Gilbert and Nalani Gilbert; a sister, Pam Delorge of Wooster, and a brother, Randy Kovach of Bradenton, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Terry Kovach and Rudy Kovach.
