Husband of Mrs. Anna L. Hoopes of Fortuna. Father of Herbert C. Hoopes of Eureka, Darold E. Hoopes of Eureka, Lawrence H. Hoopes of Battle Mountain, Nev. He is survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

A native of Thatcher, Idaho, coming to California in 1926 and residing a number of years in Salinas before coming to Fortuna four months ago. He had been employed as a Deputy Sheriff for 13 years for Monterey County. A member of Loyal Order of Moose No. 1163 of Salinas, Fortuna Christian Church. Age 75.

Services will be held at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Sturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Hastings officiating. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, Eureka.
