Route 7 resident and Warren County native Maggie Mae Cox, 79, died Oct. 25 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro after a two-week illness.

A homemaker and a member of the Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Lester and Lockie Jane Rigsby Basham.

She is survived by her husband John R. Cox Sr.; six sons, Seabert, Joe, Paul, Don, Wayne, and John R.Cox Jr., all of McMinnville; seven daughters, Barbara George, Betty Myers, Mary Bunch, and Lucille Steakley, all of McMinnville, Sue Perryman of Shelbyville, Edna Vickers of Morrison and Charlotte Fitts of Centertown; two sisters, Minnie Henderson of Viola and Ruby Townsend of Manchester; two brothers, Thurman and William Basham, both of Viola; 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at High's Chapel with Houston Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
