Robert F. Lipke, 74, of Cleveland Avenue, Syracuse, died Wednesday [16 December 1998] at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Bom in Syracuse, he was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and participated in the Normandy invasion. He retired in 1981 after 33 years as a mail carrier in the Eastwood area for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors: His wife of 50 years, the former Mary Ann Fay; a daughter, Kathleen E. Moyer of Oneida; three sons, William R. of Baldwinsville, David P. of Sherrill and Robert J. of North Carolina; four sisters, Marion E. Brower of North Syracuse, M. Rita Bourlier of New Jersey, Agnes A. Greeley of Syracuse and Jean T. Britt of Baldwinsville; a brother, Donald J. of Utica; 10 grandchildren.
Services: 9:15 a.m. Monday at Carter Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery, Onondaga Hill. Calling hours, 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse.
