He was born in Globe City, Okla, the son of William and Hattie Johnson Marion. [editor note: census records indicate birth was in Illinois.]
He was retired from the Central Iron and Metal Co.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Buddy Ramey of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Dewey of Springfield; mother, Mrs. Hattie Birdsell of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Sue Smith, Mrs. Catherine Lawson and Mrs. Inez Stoneking, all of Springfield; brother, Henry of Springfield; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were at Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
