Funeral services for Frances Puthoff, 68, Maria Stein route 1, will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church. Rev. Vincent Parr will officiate at the Solemn Requiem High Mass and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Puthoff died Tuesday at 7:50 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. She had submitted to surgery for an abdominal obstruction one week ago. The deceased was born May 9, 1897 at St. Rosa to the late Henry and Agnes Overman Leugers. She married Anthony W. Puthoff on May 24, 1916. She was a member of St. John Church, the St. Ann Rosary-Altar Society and the Maria Stein American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving with her widower are two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Eleanora) Fortman, Maria Stein; Mrs. Cyril (Pauline) Link, St. Henry; six sons, Henry, Sebastian, Raymond and Othmar, St. Henry; Norbert, Maria Stein, St. Henry; Norbert, Maria Stein, and Richard and Merinus, at home. Surviving also are 36 grandchildren, six sisters, Mrs. John Hartings, St. Rosa; Mrs. William Overman, Mrs. Edward Bruggeman, Elizabeth Buening of Coldwater and Mrs. Otto Mescher, all of Maria Stein; Mrs. Arnold Cron, Cassella and three brothers, Bernard and Aloys Buening of Coldwater and Joseph Buening, Egypt. Three sisters and one brother are deceased.
