Charlotte Alison (Conner) Bennett, passed away on June 12, 2017, at Apple Valley Center in Ayer after a brief illness, aged 97 years. She was the wife of the late Harold R. Bennett.

Born in Woburn, December 31, 1919, a daughter of the late Charles A. (Mickey) and Maggie (Milton) Conner. Charlotte was proud to say that she grew up in Townsend, Massachusetts.

She was a longtime member of the Helen L. Lawrence United Methodist Church in Pepperell, where she was Junior Choir Director. She also sang with the Senior Choir and the Hot Shots of the Pepperell Senior Center, and entertained with her fabulous harmonica playing.

Charlotte was employed by Bemis Bag Company, New England Business Service, and also as a childcare worker. She joyfully logged many hours of volunteer work at the Pepperell Senior Center, driving local seniors to various appointments, and delivering Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. A devoted volunteer, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In recognition of her many acts of selfless service to the community, Charlotte, received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Pepperell Lions Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary A. (Mitzie) Amadon and her husband Paul of New Bedford, MA and Jefferson, NH; two grandchildren, Russell J. Amadon, and Hope A. Amadon, both of New Bedford; two sisters, Jean McGrath of Milford, NH, and Alice Selfridge of Montgomery, NY, and a brother, Henry J. (Jim) Conner of Townsend. Also by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ethel Angelini, Margaret Martell, Helen Dodge, Ruth Wiik, Stanley (Pat) Conner, Lawrence Conner, and Charles (Chuck) Conner.

BENNETT -- Relatives and friends may call at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell, MA, on Monday, June 19, 2017 beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by her Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial in Walton Cemetery, Pepperell.
