She was a faithful Christian who read her Bible daily and continued to rely on Jesus to guide and direct her throughout life. She demonstrated her faith by attending church and Bible study, witnessing and praying with and for others, volunteering at Child Evangelism Fellowship and visiting loved ones in the hospital and making food to deliver to them when they came home.
Alice was known for her delicious cooking and baking and made traditional German dishes and desserts. Just some of her specialties were; vareniks, heave glaze with spareribs and sauerkraut, rivel soup, swiss steak, and See’s and fruit kuchen. Every Christmas she would make dehr greble cookies and English toffee candy and deliver them to family, friends and neighbors. Her love of cooking and baking was passed on to her daughter and granddaughters.
Alice took great pride in her appearance and finding just the right outfit to wear and enjoyed accessorizing it with jewelry and shoes. Years ago, she would go so far as to match her dear husband’s tie with her outfit. Even in her final days she would want to select her outfit for the next day before going to bed for the night. To her family, she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and will be dearly missed but know she has been reunited with her Bill in Heaven and we will see the two of them again one day.
Alice is preceded in death by Bill, her beloved husband of 53 years. Her dear great grandson, Austin Wagenleitner, Henry Schmall, her brother in law, Henry Klein Jr her brother and his wife, Connie, and parents, Henry and Marie Klein.
Her sister Bertha Schmall passed away on June 4, 2017.
