Joseph was born September 25, 1940, in Washington, D.C., the son of Joseph Sr. and Lucille K. (Wells) Parrish.
He honorably served four years of active duty in the United States Navy discharging in July of 1963.
Joseph married his wife of 55 years, Fay (Madden) Parrish on June 24, 1961, in Maryland.
He worked as a Firefighter for Montgomery County, Maryland and later on as a Professional Painter. Joseph was a member of the First Baptist Church in Florence. He loved spending time in the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Joseph loved three things most, God, country, and his family. He was a good, Godly man.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom Parrish; and one grandchild, Stephen Parrish.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Parrish; three sons, Troy, Tim, and Terry Parrish; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10AM, Monday, June 19, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Florence under the direction of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory, with burial to follow at Noon at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 6 to 8PM, Sunday, June 18, 2017 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Austin Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
