Nina Opal Collins, age 98, of Palestine, Texas died February 21, 2007 in a Palestine hospital. Burial at Roselawn Park was under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. She was born October 18, 1908, in Anderson County to the late Pinkney Cullen and Amanda Jane Shaid Gibson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Alvin Collins; son-in-law, Jim Magee; and sisters, Willie Mae Hazlett, Alma Southerland, Mildred Gilmore, Etta Lou Graves, and Marie Raines. She is survived by daughter, Dorothy Magee; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
