Elder Philip Roy, age 78, Westgate Dr. Somerset past away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Eubank, KY.
Elder Roy was born on Oct. 6, 1928 to the late Almon and Trelvis Walters Roy in Russell Springs, KY. He was a retired minister who pastored at Bethlehem Baptist, Chimney Rock Baptist, and Ansel Baptist Churches and he was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist.
He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (and Charles) McKinney, Russell Springs, KY, Pam (and Danny) Ping, Eubank, KY, and Teresa (and Paul) Wilson, Somerset; a brother, Wayne (and Rosie) Roy, Mayfield, KY; two sisters, Claris Roy, Russell Springs, KY, and Christine Roy, DeLand, IL; four grandchildren, Jonathan (and Lacie) Wilson, Columbia, KY, Angela McKinney, Nathan Ping, and Makayla Ping; and a large extended family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lafon Thomas Roy, whom he married on Oct. 10, 1946 in Jamestown, KY and his parents.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte and Bro. David Hawk officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Springs Cemetery, Russell Co., KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2007 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
