Obituary from the Latham Times, dated Friday, July 25, 1890: "Died - at the home of his son, Alva Prosser, at Latham, Tuesday, July 22, 1890, Benjamin Prosser, aged 76 years, 11 months, and 9 days. Brother Prosser was born in New York state in 1813. He was converted to Indiana in 1826 and has since been all the time a consistent Christian. He was united with the M.E. church early in life and for nearly 35 years has been a licensed exhorter and local preacher. In 1834, he was married to the wife who survived him. He was the father of ten children, five of whom were citizens of Latham and vicinity, two reside in Missouri, one in Oregon, and two are in Heaven. He had been sick a long time and his death was not unexpected. His funeral was attended by a huge concourse of friends. The sermon was preached at his request by his pastor."
