Not much is known about Alexander T. Anderson. His father was Jesse Anderson, a widower, after his wife, Margaret Wineinger, died around 1874. Alexander was nearly 10 years old at the time. His older sister, Mary, was about 12. Jesse Anderson was left with 6 young children to raise. He never remarried.

The federal census shows that shortly after Alex and Mary's younger brother, Basil was widowed, Jesse, then 74, and his 2 oldest, never-married children, Mary, 35 and Alexander, 34, settled in with Basil's family.

Only 3 years after that, Alexander's father, Jesse Anderson, died in 1903, at 77 years of age, in Marion, Pike, Indiana. The following year, Mary, near 40 years of age, married a widower, John Johnson, and Alex went to live with them. He continued to work as a farm laborer.

In 1920, this family had established a new residence in Stafford, Greene, Indiana. John Johnson had become a policeman. Alexander is still with them, however, little is heard of him after that. It is probable, that is where he died before 1930.
