MARS HILL: Orla Chandler Boone, 84 of 687 N. Turkey Creek Branch Rd., died Thursday, July 20th at her residence. She was a native of Madison Cty and was a daughter of the late Lattie and Etta Burleson Chandler and is also preceded by her husbands, Ross Chandler and Charlie Boone, daughter, Polly Young and son, Paul Chandler. Mrs. Boone was a wonderful woman that loved everyone, especially her children. She was sweet tempered and never had a harsh word for anyone.
Surviving is two daughters; Elaine Ball and husband Bill and Ethelene Gosnell all of Mars Hill, sister, Dorothy Creasman of Candler, grandchildren; Paula Lindholm and husband Jerry, Ross Young and wife Cherlon, Eric Young and wife Sandra, April Ball, Will Ball, Dawn Carver and husband Scott, great grandchildren; Brandon, Shana, Brianna, Brad, Lauren, Caitlin and Jacob.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, July 23rd at Bethel Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Vince Whitt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery.
