Joyce Ethelyn Mattox Martin, 82, of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born May 20, 1927, in Glennville, GA, the youngest of nine children, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wesley Martin of Stone Mountain, daughter Debbie Murphy, son Jim Martin, grandchildren Alison Murphy, Laura Murphy, Erica Martin and Wes Martin, all of Atlanta, brother Robert Mattox of Barnwell, SC, sister Dorothy DuRocher of Macon, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandma. She lived a Christian life and was a faithful member of Embry Hills United Methodist Church since its inception. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Embry Hills United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA, with Rev. Mark Sargent officiating.
