Erik was the sixth child of Olof Pehrsson and Maria Andersdotter. He married Magdalena Larsdotter on 07 Apr 1833 in Nora, Örebro, Sweden. They had 7 children, two of whom died in childhood. Erik's burial location is not known, his memorial being created to tie his children that immigrated to America together as siblings.
