Wife of SGM Virgil C Ray US Army

Carrie Belle Ray passed away on May 25, 2017. She was born on April 22, 1933 to Mr. Ben and Ida Foggie (Hill). She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Bennie, Will, J.B., and Johnnie, sisters Lue Lee, Betty, and Ella Mae, her daughter Linda F. Graves and grandsons Shawn L. Graves and Montiel S. Alleyne.

She is survived by her husband, one brother, one son, two daughters, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews in addition to many friends.

She traveled the world as a military spouse and raised a family while volunteering and supporting causes that supported military family life. Although arthritis slowed her down physically late in life, she remained mentally sharp and would always let you know when she did not like something. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and sister. She enjoyed her time with her large extended family all her brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

We will miss her great smile, laugh and her quick comments to correct anything she did not like.
