Obituaries from Benton Co, Ark Vol 1 1884-1898 Pg 96-97 - Fraser, Dorcas Helm Crain - Mrs Dorcas Helm Fraser was born in Westmoreland, Oneida Co, N.Y the twenty second day of Jan 1808. Her father was Willet Helm of the Helm Family so distinguished in Kentucky. She was married at the age of twenty to Libeus Crain, Esq. After the death of her former husb she became the wife of P.L. Fraser, a prominent lawyer of N,Y State. Removed to Ill in 1855, thence to Wis in 1858, after to Iowa, thence to Neb, and finally with her son to Bentonville, Ark in 1891 where she died at 2 p.m. Aug 07th 1892, being 89 yrs, 6 months, and 16 days old. Mrs Fraser had been a lady of more than ordinary mental vigor, as evidenced by the activity which her mind retained in her extreme old age. forming friendships, conversing freely and connectedly with visitors with the zest and satisfaction of most people half her age. She had been a persistent student of history and the Bible. When young she gave her heart to God, at the age of twenty eight she joined the Baptist Church of which she remained a member for more than 30 yrs, when she joined the Congregationlists and died in that Communion. She was stricken with paraylsis from which she lay for four days until death came to her relief. Though utterly helpless she retained her joy in going to him. She leaves her son, dau in law, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren at this place. Funeral services were held at the residence of Judge Crain Mon at 10 a.m. Rev T.L. Fulbright officiatin, after which the remains were interred in the city cemeter. A Friend. Bentonville Sun - Aug 13 1892.
