Cynthia L. "Cindy" Whittaker, age 65, of Englewood, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Kettering Medical Center, in Kettering, Ohio. She was born April 27, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, to Emmett and Madge Rockey Hunt. Cindy worked as a registered nurse at Grandview Hospital for 20 years and, more recently, with Optum Nurseline for the past 16 years. She has been a member of Vandalia Church of the Nazarene for 30 years and served as the church's administrative and financial secretary for the past 20 years.

She was preceded in death by: her mother; and a sister, Wendy Jean Hunt. She is survived by: her loving husband of the past 47 years, Danny Whittaker; her father, Emmett; two children, Wendi Christopher (Charles) and Justin Whittaker (Katie); two siblings, Dawn Manns (Joel) and Rex Hunt (Vicki); and seven grandchildren, Robert, Alanna, Ryleigh, Liam, Brady, Aiden and Stella.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Vandalia Church of the Nazarene, 620 Stonequarry Road, Vandalia. Pastors Mark Batton and Robert Vogelmann will officiate. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. If desired, contributions may be made either to the church or to the American Cancer Society in Cindy's memory. Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
