Passed away Friday at home.

Son of Alvis R. Payne and Jane B. Nulf Payne.
Survivors include nephew Ken (Dana) Melvin; niece, Patti (Rusty) Melvin-Reese; cousins Linda Carey and James Nulf of Avon; three great-nephews; great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ernie Payne and sister Karen A. Norris.

Attended school in Lafayette.

Served in the U.S. Navy.

Worked at Hyster, MidStates and Pace Dairy, and then retired from Crawford Industries after over 20 years.

He liked to hunt, fish, was an avid gun enthusiast, liked family cook-outs and really liked having coffee at The Forum and his friends there.

Member of the American Legion and the Moose.

Services with military rites 7pm Thursday, June 1 at Burkhart Funeral Home.
Visitation 5pm until time of service.
Cremation was chosen.

Memorial donations to the Disabled American Veterans, Cincinnati or the Montgomery/ Parke Co. Special Olympics, c/o Dana Melvin, Russellville, IN.
