She spent her childhood in Knoxville and after graduating high school she went on to attend the University of Tennessee. From 1955 to 1957 Nancy was a commercial airline stewardess. This was no small feat at a time where gaining a mere extra pound of weight could cost a stewardess her job. In 1957 she married Jack Crabtree in Nashville and the two soon moved to Newberg. Nancy enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and was active in many bridge clubs.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Manion Crabtree; brother, Billy and Sister Betty Jane. Surviving and left to honor her life are her daughter Caroline Crabtree-Osborne; son in-law Robert Osborne and her many nieces and nephews along the east coast.
