Mr. Dorsey, who died Sunday, Nov. 22, at East Alabama Medical Center, was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Lee County. He attended Auburn University before entering the Army Air Force in May 1942. He was honorably discharged in October 1945 and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters and the Presidential Unit Badge. Mr. Dorsey was actively employed as a property accountant with Uniroyal for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Dorsey of Opelika; two daughters, both of Birmingham; two sons, both of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; two brothers, David Whitt Dorsey and Evans Sikes Dorsey; and five nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
