Harold Keith Adams, 77 passed away August 9, 2014 at Alaska Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Life/Potluck will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 31 at the Adams Family Residence. For information please contact [email protected] Harold was born September 3, 1936 in Vancouver, Washington. He was a 1954 graduate of Anchorage High School. Harold married Sandra Evans on December 15, 1961, the couple lived in Anchorage and raised two beautiful children. Mr. Adams dedicated thirty years of service to the Municipality of Anchorage, with the Anchorage Telephone Utility and seven years as a police officer. He was one of the first responders to the 1964 Earthquake. Harold enjoyed sports especially football and baseball. His favorite baseball team was the Seattle Mariners and favorite football team was the Seattle Seahawks. He also enjoyed having BBQs, playing poker and sudoku and occasionally taking roadtrips. When he was younger he enjoyed downhill skiing, bowling, woodworking and was a ping pong champion! His family wrote: "Harold Adams was a man of few words, but had a big heart and warm smile. He was known as "Grandpa" to all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. By example, he showed us the importance of working hard and taking care of family while encouraging friendships and fun. Grandpa always enjoyed trying to cheat us on family game nights, watching his favorite sports teams. (Go Hawks! Go Seattle!), Sudoku and watching all of us grow up before his eyes. His laughter and spirit will be truly missed." Harold is survived by his daughter, Nedra Oeder, Anchorage; son, Robert (Bob) Adams, Anchorage; three grandchildren, Samantha Casteel, Anchorage; Sharlee Oeder, Anchorage and Jeffery Adams, Las Vegas, NV; and two great-grandsons, Devin Casteel and Luke Cuevas, both of Anchorage.
