Thelma A. Ackerman, 34, of Ames, Iowa, died June 12 of natural causes. A native of Tampa, she moved to Iowa in 1981 from San Diego. She attended the University of Florida and taught in Florida elementary schools. She was also a secretary and P.T.A. Member. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two daughters, Jessica and Alicia; a brother, Gordon Hodge of Seattle; a sister, Rose Zeiner of Germany; her father and stepmother, Thomas and Rose Marie Hodge of Tampa; her grandfather, Evaristo Pelaez of Tampa; and her grandmother, Thelma Mae Hodge of Tampa. Mrs. Ackerman was a secretary and a member of Parent-Teacher Association. Survivors include her husband, Ralph; two daughters, Jessica Ackerman and Alicia Ackerman both of Ames; her grandmother, Thelma Hodge of Tampa, Fla.; her grandfather, Evarista Pelaez of Tampa, Fla.; her mother, Lucy Patterson Hodge of Tampa Fla.; her stepmother and father, Thomas and Rose Marie Hodge of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Gordon of Seattle, Wash.; and a sister, Rose Zelner of Germany.
