Pleasanton Hearld--Pleasanton,Kansas 1895 Margaret J. Jobe

Again the dark angel of death has invaded our city and taken from our midst one of Pleasanton's best women. Mrs. Margaret Jane Jobe, whose life became extinct on last Friday night at 12:30 o'clock and passed quietly to the other shore. Pnuemonia and bronchitis was the cause of her death.

Margaret Jane Guinn was born near Bloomfield, Iowa, Oct. 19, 1849. She moved with her parents, Milton and Jane Guinn, to Indiana where she lived until 1856, when she came to Linn County Kansas. She was married to William Jobe July 16th 1868. After their marriage they lived at Trading Post, Kans., 16 years, when they moved to California; in 1878 they returned to Trading Post, living there until moving to Pleasanton in 1882 at which place she resided until her death.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jobe, of which three are dead--Isabelle, Dollie and Ernest. The five living children are Mrs. William Snyder, Miss Cora Jobe, James, Walter and Jesse Jobe. Mrs. Jobe was a quiet lady always attended strickly to her home duties and her deepest interest was manifested in her children and home. She was a model woman, member of the M. E. Church at this place and in her demise the community suffers a deep loss and truly sympathizes with her husband who loses a life partner and a noble wife; also with the five children who lose their dearest friend on earth, mother.

Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the M. E. Church in Pleasanton, conducted by Rev. J. M. Payne, of the Grace M. E. Church of Fort Scott, Kans. Interment in the Linnville Cemetery.
