A 24-year-old man shot to death Saturday morning in East Oakland about a block from where another man was fatally shot Friday night was identified by authorities Monday as Anthony Stevens.
Homicide investigators are still trying to determine if the cases are related or if the two men knew each other.
No motives have been released and no arrests made in either case, police said.
Stevens was fatally shot about 10:36 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of 92nd Avenue by someone who confronted him on the street, Sgt. Michael Cardoza said.
Stevens, who had addresses in both San Leandro and Oakland, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
