Cottet Rites Wednesday At 11 A.M.
Full military services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Waggener and Campbell Chapel for Cpl. Duane Lee Cottet, 20, who died Nov. 1 in South Vietnam while on convey.
The Rev. Charles Nowlen, Epworth Methodist Church, will officiate and military graveside rites will be conducted in the Vietnam section of Conrad Memorial Cemetery by an honor guard from Ft. Lewis, Wash., and member of local veterans groups.
Mr. Cottet entered the service Dec. 7, 1967, and took his basic training at the Army Artillery and Missile School, Fort Sill, Okla.
He was trained as a cannoneer in field artillery, and was then sent to South Vietnam.
He was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Kalispell, the son of Harold and Joyce Cottet. He attended elementary school here and graduated from Flathead High in 1966. He then attended Northern Montana College. He was an active participant in PeeWee baseball and belonged to the Boy Scouts. He was also a member of the A.D. Macdonald Chapter of Order of DeMolay, and a member of the Epworth Methodist Church.
Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Cottet St., of Kalispell; and a brother, Harold S. Cottet Jr. of Glendive; a niece, a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Alice Burton, and a paternal grandfather, William F. Wilson, both of Kalispell; and several aunts and uncles.
