Beverly Jean Nelson Smeath Harris

Early Life: Beverly was born September 19, 1931, in Paris, Idaho, to Roscoe C. and Hortense Beck Nelson. She was raised in Provo, Utah, the oldest of eight children.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Beverly married J. Boyd Smeath on February 1, 1951, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and were blessed with five children. They later divorced. She married Wilford Harris on September 12, 1981; they spent 35 happy years together. As a young mother, Beverly was active in the PTA, the 4-H Youth Program, and the Lion’s Club. She spent many hours at her children’s schools and helping them with their various projects. Plagued with poor health most of her life, she always found the strength for the things that were important to her. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. Beverly was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was devoted to her family and always so proud of everything they did. She was a wonderful seamstress, spending countless hours at her sewing machine, quilting, embroidering and crocheting. So many people have been the recipients of wonderful gifts handmade by Bev. She loved to talk and visit with people, and had many friends who loved her for her kindness and the feelings of genuine empathy she felt for them. She will be deeply missed. Beverly Jean Nelson Smeath Harris passed away at her home in Springville, Utah, on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She was 85.

Survived By: Her husband, Wilford Harris; children: Brad (Jeanne) Smeath, Jill (Brad) VanAusdal, Jackie (Mike) Bulow, and Jodi (Kirby) Crompton; stepchildren: Gene (Marie) Harris and Colette (Jim) Olsen; 32 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her oldest daughter, Susan Felix; her parents; her sister, Lourene Mehl; and her brother, Rick Nelson.
