Mrs. Geo. Parker Passes Away Suddenly From Apoplexy
----------
Death Was a Complete Surprise. Mrs. Parker Was Milking When Seized With Stroke, Lived But A Few Minutes. Wife Of Mail Carrier Parker
----------
The community at large was much startled last evening to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Geo. W. Parker wife of Rural Mail Carrier Parker, who died of apoplexy at about seven o'clock.
Mrs. Parker had left the house to milk a cow for her neighbor, Mrs. Powelson. She became sick when about half through and started toward home. When near the house she called to her husband that she was sick and he rushed out to her with a chair. She passed away in a few minutes even before a doctor could be called.
The neighbors of Mr. Parker immediately set about to make the family comfortable. Nine children are left to mourn the loss of a mother, two boys and seven girls, one child an infant six months of age. Three brothers and two sisters also survive Mrs. Parker, the brothers Alexander, Charles and Levi Willey, the sisters, Mrs. Burge of this city and also Mrs. Hoarse*.
A host of friends mourn with Mrs. Parker over the loss of his beloved wife and extend their sympathy in his most trying grief.
Mrs. Parker was the daughter of Alanson and Ruth Willey, old residents of Henry County near New London where Mrs. Parker was born. She has lived in this community all her life. She was forty-four years of age having been born on the eighth day of May, 1861 her death occurring on July 12, 1906.
She was married to Mr. Geo. Parker on the twenty-fourth day of August 1888 and there has been since then for Mr. and Mrs. Parker eighteen years of happy married life.
*Should be Horsey
For some time they have made their home in a little cottage in the north part of town. Mr. Parker made has many friends as efficient member of the Rural Delivery Carriers.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow at one o'clock from the Pentecost church of which she was a member. Her cousin, Rev. Willey will conduct the services.
