Asa was the 9th child and 6th son born to Daniel Kenney, Jr. and Elizabeth Stockwell. There has been much confusion over the actual identities of the two Asa Kenneys born in Sutton over the years. The Asa Kenney who remained and lived his life in Sutton marrying Mehitible Stockwell was the son of Theophilus Kenney, NOT Daniel Kenney, Jr. There are numerous documents to be found to support the identities and separate connections, but this forum is not the place to list them all.

Asa married Abigail Putnam in Middleton, Mass. on 8th Oct 1765.

They had one known child together, an Asa, Jr., birthplace unknown but likely in Middleton before they removed to Maugerville (then Nova Scotia)

Asa died circa very early 1768 in Maugerville based on birth timeline available for the first child born to his widow Abigail and her second husband, Richard Barlow.

Information provided by Cousin Jerry Kuntz (Anonymous), a Kinney cousin descended from two sons of Israel, John and Asa.
