Dora Evelyn Stills
Dora Evelyn Stills, born in Whigham, GA, on January 12, 1938, was ushered into the arms of Jesus at her home on May 15, 2017. She passed away after a short illness. Evelyn lived in various parts of Florida and settled in Crawfordville where she lived for the past 47 years. She worked for the State of Florida Department of Motor Vehicles until her retirement.
Her favorite hobbies were traveling, having visited over 14 countries, and doing missionary work in Nicaragua. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crawfordville where she was actively involved in various ministries at the church and throughout Wakulla County. Evelyn was a member of the Florida Division of UDC and the Chaplain for the Crawfordville UDC Chapter. She made it a point to visit her out of state grandchildren every year. She was known for her love for Christ and living out the Gospel wherever she went.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Stills, and her son, Kenneth Edward Stills. Survivors include her children, Sandra Young of Santa Clara, CA, Wade Stills of Iuka, MS, and Gail Gustetic of Medart, FL. Three brothers, Roger Harrison, A. L. Harrison Jr., and Wendell Harrison, all from Cairo, GA and five sisters, Frances Brown, Juanita Dollar and Joyce Ritter, all from Cairo, and Linda Voorhees of Jacksonville, FL and Virginia Stewart of Blairsville, GA. Her grandchildren include Matthew Young, Darla Butterfield, Cody Harrell, Andy James, Chelsea Carter and Rachel Gustetic and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 18th at First Baptist Church of Crawfordville with Pastor David Fell officiating. Internment followed at the Whiddon Lake Cemetery
