He was the husband of S. Alverta Burkholder Ruth, who died Feb. 14.
Born in Clay Township, he was a son of the late George and Ella Edwards Ruth. He was a lifelong resident of the Lititz area.
He worked for 24 years as a chocolate cooler for the Wilbur Chocolate Co. in Lititz, retiring in 1972. Previously, he was a self-employed hammer miller and thrasher for local farmers for more than 25 years.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Lititz.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty, wife of John Todd Jr., and Shirley, wife of Carl Oehme, both of Lititz; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Irene Ruth of Ephrata, Sadie Weik of Lancaster, and Anna, wife of Arthur Loose, and Ella, wife of Ivan Eshleman, both of Akron."
