LIBERTY CITY - Services for Walter Schmidt, 91, Liberty City, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Rader Funeral Home chapel, Kilgore, with the Rev. Phillip Fenton officiating.

Burial will be in Danville Cemetery prior to services.

Mr. Schmidt died Feb. 11, 2007.

He was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Walter Herman and Leticia Lee Schmidt. He retired as a supervisor from DuPont and was a member of the American Lutheran Church and a 50-year Mason.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Hazel Schmidt, Liberty City; daughter, Peggy Browne, Kilgore; son, Bud Schmidt, Holly Lake; brother, Phillip Schmidt, Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and other relatives.

If desired, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
